Experience the breathtaking beauty of Nordmarka’s wilderness with our exclusive two-day packrafting journey through the pristine Spålen Nature Reserve. Paddle through untouched forests, camp under the stars, and enjoy gourmet meals prepared over an open fire. This adventure is designed for nature enthusiasts of all skill levels seeking an authentic, unforgettable Norwegian outdoor experience.

Physical Requirements

This adventure is accessible to most people with a normal level of fitness. You don’t need to be an athlete, but it’s important to be comfortable with:

Paddling for several hours at a time: The route covers multiple lakes, and we proceed at a steady, enjoyable pace.
Carrying your gear and packraft: Between some lakes, we will need to portage our equipment, including backpacks and lightweight inflatable boats. These sections are short but require participants to carry their own gear.


This combination of paddling and hiking adds to the authentic wilderness experience and allows us to access some of the most remote and pristine parts of Nordmarka.

What's Included?

  • Professional, experienced guide
  • Packraft and all necessary paddling equipment
  • Tent or hammock for overnight camping
  • Meals: Breakfast, 2 lunches, and a three-course dinner featuring locally hunted wild game
  • Return transport from Tverrsjøen to Øyangen
  • Basic training in outdoor skills, including map reading, first aid, and paddling techniques (optional)
  • Essential gear package:
    • Sleeping bag
    • Insulated sleeping mat
    • Backpack (50–70L)
    • Waterproof packing bags (3 pcs)
    • Headlamp 

You only need to bring personal clothing, snacks, and toiletries, making this a hassle-free experience for international travelers.

Fossen Friluft

Day 1: Adventure Begins

10:00 AM: Meet at Jonsetangen for a trip overview and gear check.


Begin paddling across Lake Øyangen to its eastern end. From there, portage into the Spålen Nature Reserve and paddle down the tranquil Spålselva river to Katnosa Lake.
Set up camp in the Katnosa or Aklangen area.
Evening: Enjoy a locally sourced, self-hunted venison stew prepared over a campfire. Relax by the fire under the stars or try your luck at fishing in the serene wilderness.
Meals included: Lunch and dinner.

Day 2: Paddle Through Scenic Waters


Morning: Start the day with a hearty breakfast around the campfire.


Continue paddling through Finntjern, Pershus, and Skarvatnet, surrounded by spectacular views and thriving wildlife.
Arrive at Tverrsjøen, where transport will be waiting to take you back to Øyangen.
Approximate finish: 3:00 PM on Sunday.
